Shirley J. Nicolaisen

Shirley J. Nicolaisen, age 85 of Oshkosh, passed away at her residence on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born on April 8, 1938 to the late Paul and Virginia (Schroeder) Berry in Oshkosh. Shirley was united in marriage to Earl Nicolaisen on October 10, 1959 after having been next-door-neighbors since age 12. Together they raised one daughter.

Shirley dedicated 37 years of her working career to AT&T and retired as a supervisor. 

Shirley's joy in life came from spending quality time with her loved ones, whether it was casting a line on a peaceful fishing trip, traveling the world, swinging her clubs on the golf course, or meticulously crafting beautiful pieces through her love of sewing.

Shirley is lovingly survived by her husband of 64 years, Earl Nicolaisen; daughter, Vicky (Mark) Wenzel; granddaughter, Sarah (fiancé Tyler Phumphrey, and his daughter Dessie) Wenzel; siblings, Richard (Judy) Berry and Donna Gruska; special niece, Nicole (Nick) Theodosis. She is further survived by many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Roger Gruska.

A funeral service for Shirley will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
