Steven C. Hardel age 69, passed away Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh after a short battle with cancer.
Steve was born in Oshkosh January 7th, 1953 to the late Clyde and Alice (Stueber) Hardel.
A life- long resident of Oshkosh, Steve was a huge car enthusiast and did Auto Body Repair as a career. He was known to be meticulous with the repairs and restorations he turned out and to have side projects going on in his garage at all times.
He loved to fish, hunt, paint, woodworking and back in his earlier years was certified as a deep- water scuba diver.
In High School his friends game him the nickname of “do-dah” and was known for his fast cars and love of racing.
Steve’s biggest accomplishment in his life was his four children. He was always a good listener and helped them with whatever endeavors came their way.
Steve is survived by his children: Charles (Jenny) Hardel, Jennifer (Brad) Barber, Melissa Hardel and Amanda Hardel.
He is further survived by ten grandchildren: Tyler, Alyssa, Hailey and Ella Hardel, Bryce, Landon and Madison Barber, Courtney Vesperman, Myah Hardel and Hayden Verhagen.
He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents , sister Baby Jean, sister Judy (Roger) Dehn, brother Kim Hardel and several aunts and uncles.
Steve’s family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Home and Moments Hospice for their care and compassion over the past several months and to Sue Hipple especially for her time and dedication.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
