Sue Ala Kennon

Sue Ala Kennon, born May 6, 1936, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on the eve of her Savior's birth, December 24, 2021.

She taught music and voice for many years and retired from St. John's Lutheran Church after 30 years of service.

After she retired and moved to Oak Grove Assisted Living in Necedah, she continued to play special concerts for the residents at Easter and Christmas, patriotic songs at Memorial Day and 4th of July; even dinner music (Elvis Presley being her favorite), and most commonly Sunday worship songs.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Kennon; sister, Sonja Martindale; grandson, Shannon McMurray; and her parents, Lucille, and Harold Hahn.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Kennon (Cathy), Kevin Drowatzky (Keri); and two daughters, Rhonda Eggers (Lyle) and Debbie McMurray. Grandchildren: Ashley Woodward (Dennis), Kamra Duncan (Joshua), Amber Piazza (Joe), Amy Campbell, Tiffany Eggers, Celeste Cornsilk (Dennis), Nicholas Drowatzky, Dale McMurray (Shayla), John McMurray, Tracy McMurray, and 13 Great grandchildren.

A service for Sue will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (808 N. Main Street, Oshkosh) on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 1PM. A visitation will be held from 11AM until the time of service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. John’s Music Department or Oak Grove Assisted Living (200 W 6th St Necedah, WI 54946).
