Susan "Sue" A. (Last) Christensen, age 62 of Oshkosh, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on May 16, 1959 to Robert W. and Jacqueline A. (Mace) Last. Dear mother of Lisa (Michael) Irizarry. Sue is also survived by her beloved granddaughters, Marghret Race and Aryella Irizarry; brothers, Bob (Rita) Last and Chuck (Beth) Last; sister-in-law, Vickie Last; lifelong friend and sister, Becky (Dallas) Kissinger; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jacqueline Last; and brother Tom Last.
Sue was a 1977 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond Du Lac, WI. While in school, Sue played the oboe in concert band and orchestra, and was a member of marching band, where she was part of the color guard. She was also involved in the Spanish Club; one of her fondest memories was a class trip to Mexico, where she was able to immerse herself into the local culture.
Sue valued her family more than anything. She always looked forward to breakfast on Sunday mornings, family reunions, and most of all, she loved attending events for her siblings, daughter, granddaughter, nephews and nieces. She was the type of person who showed up first and saved seats for everyone. She would have done anything to help family and friends.
Sue was a very generous and giving person. For many years, she volunteered at EAA AirVenture and Celebration of Lights in Oshkosh. Giving back to the community she lived in was important to her. She rang the bell for the Salvation Army in Oshkosh, counted cranes for the International Crane Foundation out of Baraboo, WI, and volunteered at numerous other organizations in the Fox Valley area. Sue worked various jobs throughout her life, including the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Miron Construction, the Experimental Aircraft Association, CESA 6, Sears, Best Bet Casino Parties, and her favorite, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, selling 50/50 raffle tickets! She was very loyal and always gave her all to every job. She was also a member at First English Lutheran Church.
Sue was an avid sports fan and loved all Wisconsin teams, but she had a particular love of baseball. She looked forward to attending the Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day annually, as well as numerous other Brewers and Timber Rattlers events and games throughout her life. Her passion for sports was unmatched and will be missed. Of her many other interests, Sue loved music. She enjoyed listening to country music, going to live concerts, and attending musicals. Phantom of the Opera was her all time favorite.
