Susan “Sue” K. Stevens, age 67, passed away from a long, courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was the oldest daughter of Robert Jr and Kathleen (Zuehlke) Strachan, born on February 14, 1950, in Oshkosh.
She attended Oshkosh High School, graduating in the class of 1969.
On April 22, 1978 she married Ronald L. Stevens. They raised their family in Oshkosh.
Sue worked at various jobs including The Carolina Candle Factory, Firstar Bank, and her own in-home daycare. She worked at 4imprint for 15 years and proudly retired from there in 2015.
She enjoyed all sorts of crafts, decorating for holidays, baking, hosting holiday parties, gardening, shopping for new additions to her scarf collection and going to the famers market.
Sue loved her family and spending time with her daughters, she loved being a grandma and making memories with her grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her husband, Ron, daughters, Katie (Mike Dennison) and Jennie (fiancé Jarett Burtt) Stevens. Grandchildren, Lukas Stevens, Isabella Airola, Makenzie Stevens. Her brothers, Robert III and James Strachan. Several nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Bonnie (Jerry) Place
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathleen Strachan and her brother Edward Strachan.
A time of gathering will be held for friends and family to give condolences to Ron and the girls on October 26, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St. Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
The family would like to send special thanks to the amazing staff at the Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, and to the staff at Mercy Medical Center especially Heather Klauer and to the doctors and nurses in the ICU for all the care and kindness they gave to Sue.
