Sue (Suzanne) Brehmer peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by family on August 26th, 2017. She was born on October 3rd, 1951 in Oshkosh; the child of Richard and June Wegner. She married the love of her life, Floyd “Buzz” Brehmer, on October 28th, 1972, and they celebrated nearly 45 years of marriage together.
A dynamic woman, Sue had a colorful career that started with over a decade at Mercy Medical Center, joined her husband on the road as a semi-truck driver for H.O. Wolding (before going solo), and then led to keeping the community safe as a guard at the Wisconsin Resource Center. Outside work, she had a passion for coffee and baking, and taught the importance of traditional sweets to her entire family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, including her many cherished pets throughout the years. Despite her (more than occasional) sass, she will be sorely missed for her huge heart. The ultimate caregiver, no one in need of love or care went unserved under her watch. Over the years her home served as a rotating door to any and all – no matter how many legs.
She is survived by her loyal husband: Buzz, her children: Cheryl Brehmer (Jason Sowls), Jodi (Dave) Kelley, Scott Brehmer (Jenny Triphan), and Brenda (Dave) Knaack. She was a very special Nana to nine grandchildren: Andy, Zandi, Tricia (Phil), Zech (Amber), Cami, Christian, Jake, Ezra, and Coltin, four great grandchildren: Ryan, Aubrey, Gunnar, and Ellie, siblings: Lynn (Dan) Kromm, Dawn Kortbein, Roger Wegner, Mary Gray, Debbie Wegner (Dennis Wilke), Ann Wegner (Darin Fleck), and brother in law Tom Terrace, along with many nieces and nephews, the entire “Wegner Clan,” and her Chinese Crested Chihuahua, Gizmo.
She joins several loved ones for the “big reunion in the sky” including her parents and two beloved siblings: her brother Gilbert “Gib” Wegner and sister Julie Terrace, and brothers-in-law: Darrel Kortbein and Gary Gray.
Sue’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the Serenity Gardens staff at Bethel Home as well as Affinity Hospice for their amazing care and support.
A celebration of her life will be held starting at 4 PM on Wed., September 6, at Omro Community Center, Omro, WI.
