Sylvia Ann Reimer

Sylvia Ann Reimer, 88, of Oshkosh, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, died on Monday June 22, 2015. She was born on April 26, 1927 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Mary Ann Pocednik and Henry J. Hoffman. She married Robert Reimer on April 30, 1949 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.Sylvia was a registered nurse at the Axle and Bethel Home in Oshkosh and a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She enjoyed many good times travelling to a variety of places in the world, including Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and most US states, with a group of good friends and also with her family. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and camping, was an avid reader of mysteries, loved doing crossword puzzles, and was an enthusiastic chocoholic!After her retirement she took on a second career as a great Grandma, helping to lovingly raise her two grandkids while she spent the summers each year in Canada. This family time was always filled with lots of love and laughter!Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2009. She is survived by daughter Susan( Brian) Cox, of Limehouse, ON, Canada, grandchildren Lauren Reimer Cox of Ottawa, ON, Canada and David Robert Cox of Novi, MI, niece Judy (Ken) Vallier of Waukesha, WI, nephews Dan (Charlene) Bobzin of Stevens Point, WI, David ( Ruth) Bobzin of Mascouteh, IL, Frank Reimer Jr. ( Debbie) of Freedom, WI, and godchild Jeffrey ( Sarah) Vallier of Lafayette, IN.A funeral service for Sylvia will be starting at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 25 at Lakeview Memorial Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh with Rev. Julie Reinke officiating. Visitation will be at the Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
