Thomas A. (Tom Kat) Klabunde I, 76, Oshkosh, passed away on June 18, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Tom was born in Oshkosh, on September 5, 1939, the son of Alfred and Kathryn (Rushesky) Klabunde. After attending Oshkosh High School, Tom began working at Castle Pierce Printing Company, followed by employment at Badger Concrete, and then at Glen Valley Farm until his retirement. Tom thoroughly enjoyed his work and the friends he made while employed there.Throughout his life, Tom was a hard worker. He used his woodworking skills to create and build various projects both indoors and out. He landscaped single-handedly the entire backyard with theme-featured areas, such as a Southwestern display, and special areas for various holiday seasons. Tom is survived by his sister, Sandra Klabunde, and two grandchildren, Nicole Klabunde and Steven Klabunde, as well as three great-grandchildren: Logan, Jarred, and Skyla. Tom is also survived by special friends: Debbie Karns, Mike Peerenboom, Megan Kelly, and John Tice; in addition to numerous cousins and other friends. Tom was preceded in death by an infant son and also another son, Thomas A. Klabunde II who passed away in 2013, as well as his parents and grandparents.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Riverside Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh.
