Thomas D. Oelschlager, age 78, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Tom was born in Oshkosh on May 16, 1943, to the late Hans and Leoma (Juedes) Oelschlager. After graduating from Oshkosh High School Tom joined the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He married Judith Mosier on the 30th of May 1998. Tom was a master carpenter for Morgan Doors for over 30 years. Tom enjoyed woodworking and working on carpentry for his home. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and going fishing. He loved to read books of all sorts, if it was a good book, he made sure he read it and even if it wasn’t a good book, he felt obligated to finish it. He enjoyed listening to music, especially his favorite band the Grateful Dead.
Tom is survived by his wife, Judith; son, Jason Oelschlager Sr.; grandson, Jason Oelschlager Jr. siblings, Richard (Jinnie) Oelschlager, Nancy Schroeder, Doris Weed, and Betty Smelund as well as his sister-in-law, Joyce Grimes.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister Faye Oelschlager.
A service for Tom will be held at St Andrews Lutheran Church on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 1PM. Rev. Karen Jewell will be officiating. A visitation will take place from noon until the time of service. A burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
