Thomas J. Roberts, age 81 of Oshkosh died at Eden Meadows on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born in Oshkosh on July 25, 1930, a son of the late J. Vern and Rose Mueller Roberts. Tom married Audrey Fuller in Oshkosh on March 1, 1954.Tom retired from the U S Marine Corps in 1968 after serving in the Berlin Air Lift, Korean War and Viet Nam Conflict as a meteorologist. Following retirement, Tom went to school for computer programming and was employed by Universal Foundry, Speed Queen and Oshkosh BGosh. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Post 17 and Cook-Fuller American Legion Post 70. He played semi pro football for the Oshkosh Comets. Tom was a member of Club 13 and was a co-founder of Club 6 and enjoyed woodworking.Survivors include his wife, Audrey; one daughter, Lee Ann (Tom) Hintz; three sons, Jeff (Jane) Roberts, Bill Roberts, Greg (special friend Kathleen Fenrich) Roberts, all of Oshkosh; 9 grandchildren, Jillian (Adam) Rooker, Katie Hintz, Rachel Donald, Alex Roberts, Ian Roberts, Max Roberts, Erica Roberts, Sam Roberts, Emily Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Adelynn Kohlbeck, McCartney Rooker, Evelyn Rooker; and one brother, Paul (Susan) Roberts of Oshkosh. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Roberts.Memorial services will be held in the chapel at Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd.) on Friday April 20, 2012 at 5:00 PM with Bishop James Justman officiating. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Friday from 3:00 PM to the time of service. A memorial has been established. Thomas family would like to send a special thank you to the Nurses and Staff at Aurora Medical Center and the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association.
