Thomas Richard Field

Thomas Richard Field, age 70, passed away April 17, 2015. He was born March 1, 1945 in Marion, Ohio the eldest son of John and Evelyn (Lubker) Field. He graduated from Richwood High School (Richwood, Ohio) in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1969 where he proudly served aboard the U.S.S. Albatross during the Vietnam conflict. Thomas also graduated from the Elkhart Institute of Technology and worked as a medical technologist in Munising Michigan. While in Munising, Tom married Carolee Moe. They eventually moved to Chilton, WI where their son John was born. In 1990, Tom married Cynthia Fuller and they made their home in Oshkosh. Tom held various positions over the years, including business owner of The Painter, groundskeeper at Kimberly-Clark, and prep worker at Marvel Manufacturing. He truly enjoyed the outdoors. Nothing revived him more quickly than to feel the warmth of the sun, a breeze blowing through his hair and to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. He spent time gardening, hiking, canoeing and camping. He was an avid reader, enjoyed fixing motorcycles and creating works of art. He often pondered the meaning of life and other big questions. In his final years, though his cognition was deeply impacted by a brain injury and Alzheimers, he opened his heart and saw beauty all around him. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; two sons, Ryan of Waukesha and John (his daughter Violet, special friend Danielle and son Tobin) of Appleton; brother Peter (Susan) of Chicago; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents.A memorial service celebrating Toms life will be held at12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes (Westside). Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
