Tom Noe of Oshkosh, passed away in the early evening hours of March 2nd, 2024 after a five year, bravely fought, battle with throat cancer.
Tom was born to Gerald and Geraldine (Gutsmiedl) Noe on January 29, 1951. He graduated from Oshkosh High School class of ’69, from there he went to work at Hoffmaster Inc. and stayed there until the day he retired.
Then… he met the best score of his life, and on April 17th 1982 he married the gal who treated him like a “princess” until the day he died, Barbara Genal.
Barb always told him she married handsome and not necessarily handy; if it wasn’t throwing, hitting, or catching a ball, he couldn’t do it or at least struggled with it.
They had many years of out-of-town weekends for the tournaments Tom would be in, and pretty much won.
His younger years were full of baseball and all those guys to this day are near and dear to his heart. He was inducted into the softball Hall of Fame in September 2005, and was also the first father and son to be inducted into the Hall of Fame Glory Wall.
Golf was another one of his passions. He was kind of known as “the guys with the most unorthodox swing”. Golf became the carrot in front of his face to get him healthy for summer and I’m forever grateful for the golf guys always having something lined up for him, but the best times were when Travis and his buddies asked the “old guy” to be the fourth in a golf outing (because he could play further up).
Winters were snowmobile season. He would check out races in advance that he and his best friend (nephew) Mason Luce “Bud”, would attend. Mason also got him back into bird hunting. He just loved spending time with that kid.
Left to mourn his loss is his wife, Barb; children, Travis (Andrea) Noe, Jennifer (Brendt) Strange, Jason Noe and fur baby, Brie; sister, Joni Stutz; brothers, Dave (Lisa) and Ron Noe; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Genal, Patti Beske, and Jeanne Lehr, as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Schaune Luce.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Geraldine Noe, Irene Genal, Richard Genal, Eugene Lehr, Sandie and Wally Jero, Jim Stutz, Linda Noe, and Dennis Beske.
Till we meet again my lil man! XXXOOO
