It is with heavy hearts we share the death of Timothy James Paris. Tim died suddenly, Monday, February 17, 2020 while doing the work he loved and where he had been employed for the past 25 years, currently as Vice President of Operations, for H. Derksens, working alongside his brother-in-law, David Willeford and his close knit co-workers.
Tim was the youngest of four boys born on June 27, 1964, in Fremont, MI. He was born on his Parents 10th Wedding Anniversary – who always said what a wonderful present he was! He fell in love with and married DeeDee Witkowski on Aug. 24th 1990 with a unique wedding that included a trip to the dog track with all in full wedding attire. They began their married life in Milwaukee, WI but moved back to Oshkosh to be closer to family.
Family was so important to Tim and it showed abundantly in the way he lived his life. His children truly were his pride and joy and no father ever loved his children more. That love extended to his many nieces, nephews, and foreign exchange students he and DeeDee hosted. After the death of Tim’s mother, his father came to live with Tim and DeeDee along with his precious dog, Peanut. This provided the opportunity for the two of them to spend time together and make even more memories.
Tim had many passions including hockey, photography, Corvettes and spending time at their trailer at Little Silver Lake in Wild Rose. His hockey friends were like his family, his hockey boys like his own and his many trailerhood friends sometimes his audience. There will be an empty chair around many fire pits this summer.
The ice and the trailer were just two more places Tim left an indelible mark as Tim’s huge heart was evidenced by his generous donation of time and involvement in many organizations and activities. Tim was the current President of his Condo Association, he had served as both Vice President and President of First English Lutheran Church, he had been treasurer of their youth group, a member of the church band, and organizer of the Easter Breakfasts for many years. He was a previous Warbird Hockey board member, a coach for their inaugural season, an adjunct board member and volunteer for The Community for Hope, the Wisconsin Sled Hockey Association, and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Citizen’s Law Enforcement Agency to name a few.
Tim is survived by his wife DeeDee; his children, Brett and Teague; his father, Lee Paris; brothers, Chuck (Dorothy) Paris, Andy (Beth) Paris, and Joe (Judy) Paris; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Steve) Kosmer, Paula Merten, Karla (David) Willeford; brother-in-law, Jerry Witkowski. He is further survived by his “host” children, Lisa, Julia, Helmi, Simon, Fer, Patrick and Max.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie (Johnson) Paris; mother and father-in-law, Betsy and Jerome Witkowski; sister-in-law, Rhonda Witkowski; nephew, Shawn Schmitz; and great-nephew, Adrian Witkowski.
A memorial service for Tim will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota St. with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is going to be established.
Tim was a wonderful listener, a great hugger, an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a kidder, a jokester, a “God, I am glad to know him” kind of guy and we will never ever forget him. He will be loved by us forever.
