Trent L. Staerkel

Trent L. Staerkel, age 56 of Oshkosh, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born in Oshkosh on October 18, 1964, to Ralph and Dorothy Strong. After the death of Ralph, Dorothy met Gerald Staerkel, who later adopted Trent and raised him as his own.

He always had a love for rock and roll and playing anything with strings. His children recall that his infatuation with Led Zeppelin was most apparent by the number of band t-shirts he owned throughout their lives. Trent had an artistic side that was shown through his love for drawing and building things. He also enjoyed fishing, especially in Stevens Point.

He is survived by his father, Gerald Staerkel; children: Amanda (Steven) Spatchek, Paul (Sadie) Staerkel, Amber (Derrick) Igoe, Morgan Eichhorst, and Mackensie Spencer; 10 grandchildren; siblings: Jeff (Darlene) Strong, Kim (Terry) Buss, and Troy (significant other, Di Dennison) Staerkel. He is further survived by sister-in-law, Deb Strong, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his biological father, Ralph, Trent was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hopka, and his brother, Doug Strong.

A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends.
