Vernon L Ruppel

On April 18, 2011 Vernon L. Ruppel (89) was gathered into the arms of his loving Savior as he laid down his body and took up his place in heaven along with those who have passed over before him.He was born September 30, 1921, in Shiocton, Wisconsin of the late John D. Ruppel and Emma E. Spoehr Ruppel Bargenquast. He retired in 1983 as a machinist from Mercury Marine in Fond du lac, WI. Vern lived in Oshkosh for most of his life.He is survived by is his wife Jeanette M. Spanbauer Ruppel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxanne and Louis Stini Oshkosh and Nancy and Robert Ricciardi of Freedom, PA; two sisters, Vaughn Meyer of Sun Prairie and Joyce Moss of Madison. Five grandchildren Dawn Royse, Neenah; Troy Royse New Berlin; Sara and her husband Jim Sina, Germantown; Jeffery and his wife Kuntal Ricciardi in Texas and Amy and her husband Richard Geibel, in Pennsylvania. 12 great grandchildren, Jeremiah and wife Maggie Oshkosh; Joshua Oshkosh; Alexander Royse Chandler, AZ; T.D., Wyatt, Isabella Royse New Berlin; Evan and Julia Sina Germantown; Jessica and Emily Ricciardi Cleveland, TX and Benjamin and Alexa Geibel Pennsylvaina. 2 great great grandchildren John David and Julia Miller Oshkosh. He is also survived 3 sisters-in-law, Rose Ruppel and Margaret Gawaresky Oshkosh; Irene Bonnell New London and a brother-in law John Spanbauer Oshkosh and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters-in law; Ross and his wife Ruth, Jack and his wife Laurea; Gordon and Arden and two brothers-in-law Robert Meyer and Simon Moss. The body of Vern has been cremated and interment will be at a later date in a private ceremony in Ellenwood Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a memorial to be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Primo Restaurant, 2605 Jackson Street, Oshkosh. Lunch will be served.
