Vernon R. Rogers peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 20th. It was a beautiful sunny fall day, a perfect day for Vernons prayers to be answered and begin his journey home. Vernon was born in Oshkosh WI on August 31, 1938, the son of Vernon R. Sr. and Roberta (Harold) Rogers.Vernon proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Vernon married Joan Augsburger on 8/22/1987 at the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh WI. Joan preceded him in death on October 25, 2014. Vernon owned and operated Rogers Pump Company and Valley Soft Water. He was a partner in Eagle Tech. Vernon and Joan purchased Leons Frozen Custard as one of their fun adventures. The grandkids loved when grandpa took them to Leons for an all you can eat afternoon. Vernon enjoyed life by world traveling, attending theater, playing the stock market and trips to Door County for fish boils. He had many fond memories of hunting and fishing trips. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening and watching the Packers. We will all remember the great fireworks displays he had for the 4th of July picnics. Vernon is survived by his children: Kathy (Justin) Berens, Mitzi Rogers, Andrew (Jenny) Rogers and Rebecca Rogers Joans children: Cheryl (John) Drexler, Lori Hill, Steven (Cindy) Augsburger, and Roxane (Mitch) Hencke. Grandchildren: Max Rogers, Alexia Berens, Michael Bloedow, Brandon Nelson, Kayla(Matt) Palm, Jordan, Teagan and Sam Augsburger, Kellen, Maggie and Erin Clifford, Jacob (Mary) Hencke and Rachael Hencke.Great grandchildren: Daniel, Lucas, Hayven and Landon.He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his brother Charles Rogers. A funeral Service for Vernon will be at held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church (2580 W 9th Ave) with Rev Tim Routh officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Calvary Lutheran Church Memorial Garden.After the service Vernons wishes for a private entombment will be held at Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors.The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice team for the great care they gave Vernon. Patsy Beck for her friendship and support. Ryan, his hospice nurse was amazing! His expert care to keep Vernon comfortable, to share a smile and a laugh with him will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank Diane Miller for her visits that meant so much to Vern. The earth is the Lords and all that is in it. The world and those that dwell therein. Psalm 24:1
