Verwin Robert Flora

Verwin R. Flora, 83, of Oshkosh, died Friday August 28, 2009 at Gabriels Villa. He was born on April 8, 1926 in West Allis a son of Emmett and Myrtle Wry Flora. He married Betty May Olson in West Allis on July 19, 1947. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2007. Verwin was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School in West Allis in 1944, and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking and going to the casino. He is survived by his daughters JoAnne(Dean) Ochowicz, Judy Flora all of Oshkosh, two brothers Russell Flora of Medford, Duane(Doris) Flora of Appleton, three grandchildren Jacob Flora, Allison Burns, and Hope Ochowicz. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother and sister in law Merlin and Rosemary Flora. A memorial service for Verwin will be held on Saturday September 12, 2009 at 11 a.m at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be performed at the funeral home after the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.A memorial is established to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Gabriels Villa for their superior care and to Aurora Dialysis.
