Victoria A. Potratz, age 74, of Omro, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Victoria was born in Oshkosh on May 27, 1949, daughter of the late William and Hazel (Lloyd) Gruse. She attended a one room schoolhouse, Jackson Grade School in Oshkosh, and Toledo High school as well as Oshkosh West High School. Victoria married the love of her life, Anthony George Potratz and they shared 55 years together. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Victoria worked as a car hop at Ed and Ardy’s Drive In (where Tony first asked Vicki out) and enjoyed driving school bus for 22 years. She especially enjoyed running their hobby horse farm. She had a passion for horses her whole life and enjoyed showing horses professionally and locally. Victoria loved helping her children show their horses in the local 4H club. She loved to take trail rides and work with her horses. In her later years she enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, antiquing, reading and family time.
Victoria is survived by her husband, Anthony; two children, Todd(Tina) Potratz, and Mechelle (Rob) Walker; 10 grandchildren, Andrew Patterson, Alyssa Potratz, Kayla Potratz, Alex Angle, Olivia(Caleb) Dutko, Seth Gerberding, Logan Walker, Lucas Walker, Reagan Walker, and Lydia Walker; one great-grandchild, Levi Patterson; brother and sister-in-laws, Jay(Nancy) Potratz, Brenda (Tom) Ellis, Sydney (Carol) Potratz, Rendell (Nancy) Potratz, Lonnie(Cheri) Potratz; many nieces and nephews; her dear cousin, Janie Ramos; and many others.
In addition to her parents, Victoria was preceded in death by her brother, James (Judy) Gruse; sister-in-law, Sadonna Gurley; brothers-in-law, Danny (Joanna) Potratz, and Nathon (Sharon) Potratz.
A service for Victoria will be held at Bethesda Church 457 Clairville Rd., Ring, WI on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 3PM until 6PM and will resume Saturday, June 10 at the church from 10AM until the time of service.
Victoria’s family would like to thank her wonderful medical team who took great care of her and especially her hospice nurses, Angie P, Casey, Angela, and her aide, LuAnn. You made her final days comfortable and did it with top notch care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Victoria’s name.
