Viola M. Wood, 98, of Oshkosh, died Monday January 21, 2008 at Bethel Home. She was born August 21, 1909, in the Township of Rushford, a daughter of George and Lizzie Lee Turner. She married Walter Wood on March 25, 1933 in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1986.She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Nekimi. She was a teacher at Rural School and a principal in Poy Sippi and Pingri School. Later in life she worked at Dellwood Implement and SNC. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, and spending time fishing at the cottage. She was a 4H leader and member of Rural Homemakers Club and Kroldean Club.She is survived by two sons George (Irene) Wood of Oshkosh, Roderick (Beverly) Wood of Waupaca, two daughters Maxine (Kenneth) Merk of Ripon, Carla (Ervin) Nemitz of Van Dyne, 20 grandchildren,32 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren and one son-in-law Roger Radloff of OshkoshShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Shirley Radloff and one brother John William Turner.Funeral services will be held on Friday January 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church-Nekimi with Rev. James Reiff officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
