Virginia Cecelia Raatz

Virginia Gena C. (Nee Sobojinski) Raatz, age 79, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dillona(Wisconsin Dells) on July 29, 1932 the daughter of John and Minnie Peasall Sobojinski. On July 9, 1955 she married Herman Raatz in Wisconsin Dells. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. During her lifetime she had worked at Mercy Hospital, Pluswood Industries, Lenox Candle and R&M Caf for her sister. She enjoyed shopping and lunch with friends and family. She looked forward to gambling trips and always enjoyed company. In her earlier years she loved to do the paint-by-number pictures and gift them. Her love of animals was unbelievable. She did a lot of dog sitting, even to the point of giving up her space for it to be comfortable, always going for walks and giving them to many treats. She wouldnt even kill a spider. She is survived by her husband, two sisters Lucille Fritz of Oshkosh, Eleanor(Carl) Raatz of Madison, three sisters-in-law Edna Peterson, Shirley Turner, Marge Schlagel, many nieces, nephews and very special friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn son, five brothers, Donald, Eugene, John, Edward, and Ervin, and two sisters Irene Zouski and Rosemary Fritz. Funeral services for Virginia will be held on Friday March 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes Westside with Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established. A very special thank you to Karen Wedde, Marge Schlogel, and the staff at Mercy Medical Center.
