Virginia Eleanor Grable

Virginia E. Grable, 77, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday Oct. 18, 2006 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1929 in Oshkosh a daughter of Erwin and Eleanor Metko Merrill. On February 18, 1946 she married Richard Grable at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Oshkosh.She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and wife of over 60 years and mother to her children. She was avid at doing crossword puzzles, a champion scrabble player, loved knitting, traveling and having special sleepovers with her daughters.She is survived by her husband of 60 years Richard of Oshkosh, one son Gary(Katie) Grable of Oshkosh, three daughters Linda(Lee) Baerwald of Oshkosh, Mary Kay Grable of Shawano, Julie(Rick) Kerr of Oshkosh, one brother Russell(Jan) Merrill, twelve grandchildren Tony Grable, Rick(Kristin) Grable, Becky(Steve) Zimmer, Michelle(Mike) Faggio, Katie Hassler, Sadie(Chad) Jensen, Natalee(Todd) Mueller, Jamie Baerwald, Casey(Nicole) Cotton, Anna(Jason) Yeager, Jason Kerr, Jessica Kerr, twelve great-grandchildren Emily, Charlie, Jack, Will, Jacob, Zachary, Trace, Kalin, Vincent, Isabella, Sophie, Grace, one daughter-in-law Peggy Grable, one brother-in-law Raymond Grable, cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends Evie, Marie, and Ruby.She was preceded in death by one son Charles Grable.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Oct. 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers memorials to Affinity Hospice would be appreciated.A heartfelt thank you to Affinity Hospice staff especially Ginnys nurse, Astra, who lovingly guided us all through this most difficult journey.
