Virginia E. Luedeke, 86 of Oshkosh died at Evergreen Retirement Community on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. She was born in Oshkosh on September 22, 1921, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Weigandt Gorr.She married Frank E. Luedeke in Oshkosh on March 24, 1945. Frank preceded her in death on January 8, 1998.Virginia had been employed at Sears and Jeffries Clothing Store. She was a longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and spent many evenings at the Legion Post for bingo nights. She also enjoyed bowling and golf. Survivors include a son Jim (Marge) Luedeke, Burlington; one daughter, Jane Levine, Oshkosh; one sister, Jeannine Gores, Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Joshua Klemmer, stationed in the Army at Ft. Drum, NY, Dawson and Leah Levine, Oshkosh; Jena (Matt) Farmer, Burlington, Jeffrey Luedeke, Burlington; and one great grandson, Gabriel Klemmer, Ft. Drum, NY; two sisters-in-law, June (Harry) Rouse, Madison and Edna Luedeke, Oshkosh and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Harvey and Glenn Gorr and three sisters Erna Schneider, Alma Gorr and Mary Jane Wickert.Memorial services will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd.) on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Revs. Jeff Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial to Martin Luther Lutheran Church has been established.
