Wayne F. Schoening

Wayne F. Schoening, 72, of Oshkosh died Friday May 13, 2011 at Bethel Home. He was born October 28, 1938 in Shawano a son of the late Floyd and Frieda (Gast) Schoening. Wayne married Carol Ulrich on February 20, 1965 in Ogema, WI. Wayne had worked for Kitz & Pfeil Hardware for 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Wayne enjoyed crafts, wood working, fishing, and hunting, especially deer hunting up north with the boys. The special times he spent with his two grandchildren were something he always enjoyed and thought about. He is survived by his wife Carol of Oshkosh; a daughter Tami (Tim) Knapp of Oshkosh; a son Brad (Amy) Schoening of Oshkosh; two grandchildren Madeline Schoening and Tristen Knapp; a sister Marshell (James) Bergsbaken of Cecil; a brother Floyd (Karen) Schoening of Algoma; a special aunt Viola Jozwiak of Shawano; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister Ila Mae Andersen and an infant brother Raymond Schoening. A funeral service for Wayne will be held Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel U.C. C., Rev. Andi Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 17 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 4 - 7 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial in Waynes memory is being established. Waynes family would like to thank the nurses and staffs at Bethel Home and Mercy Medical Center for all their help and care.
