Wayne R. McWilliams, 71 of Oshkosh died Saturday March 17, 2007 at the Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Portage, WI on May 30, 1935 the son of Lester and Frances Ely McWilliams. On November 28, 1964 he married Penelope L. Frue in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2004.Wayne had been employed at the Paine Lumber Co. and for over 30 years at the Neenah Foundry. He was a member of the Sunnyview Christian Church. He had served his country in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He enjoyed playing cards and drinking coffee with his neighbors.He is survived by his daughter, Shannon McWilliams of Oshkosh, a brother, Francis McWilliams of Portage, WI, two sisters, Beth Arendt of Berlin, WI, and his twin, Wilma Duesterheoft of Westfield, WI, three grandkids, Tyler and Kyle Hartwig, and Mikayla Holland all of Oshkosh, and his four legged companion, Sammie. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dale and James McWilliams, two brothers/in/law, Ray Arendt, and Harry Duesterheoft, and four legged companions, Spike and Sarah.His funeral will be on Thursday March 22, 2007 at 6:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Drs. Michael Knier and Edward Lake, and to the staff at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation.
