Kranz, Wayne S.Wise Wayne, one of a kind, beloved husband and father, builder of airplanes and castles, most excellent grandfather and enchanter of children, planter of garden fish, mighty master of glue and nails and fixer of all, legendary maker of scalloped potatoes and ham, voice of thunder, extreme accordion player, practical joker, danger to himself and others, adopter of strays both animal and human, helper to all, yard fairy and planter of many an invasive species, king of the comeback, loyal friend, wearer of unusual headgear, collector of cats, philosopher frontiersman, and so much to so many.Wayne Sherman Kranz, passed away peacefully at home after short illness, and began his journey to be with the Lord on his birthday, July 2, 2015, having just reached the age of 75. He waits with our Lord to be reunited with his beloved wife, Marcia, in heaven.Wayne was born to the late Walter and Mildred Kranz on July 2nd, 1940, in Fond du Lac County. Wayne spent his childhood in Waupun and then Oshkosh. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962 and was stationed in Germany. Wayne married the love of his life, Marcia Zemke on June 27, 1964. They settled in Oshkosh and began raising a family. Wayne worked as a machinist at Rockwell International for 37 years before retiring in 2000.Wayne enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes, hunting and fishing, watching the Packers play, attending Oshkosh North basketball games, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcia, his sons: Jeffrey (Dawn) Kranz and James (Barb) Kranz and daughter, Michelle Klitzke. He is also survived by his much loved granddaughter, Lily, who brought him great joy in the later years of his life. Wayne leaves behind his dearest friends of 52 years, Randy and Cheryl Ditmer and honorary family member Stephanie Whitaker as well as numerous other friends and family. Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, William Kranz.Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Community Church, 2351 Ryf Road, Oshkosh, with Pastor Karl Kramer officiating. Friend and family may visit at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to Theda Care Hospice and Waynes nurses, Amy and Judy for the excellent care he received in the last months of his life.
