Wendy Lynn (Miller) Mermall, 65, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center on Mother's Day, May 8, 2022, exactly 34 years after her father's death in 1988. She was born to Russell and Lorraine Miller in Evanston, IL on May 14, 1956 and was the oldest of three children. Wendy married Stanley D. Mermall in Park Ridge, IL on August 22, 1987 and resided in Oshkosh, WI where they raised two children, Evan and Ryan.
Wendy was described by those close to her as caring, generous, selfless, and loving. She always put others first and found little ways to surprise them with her generosity of both spirit and gifts. A talented seamstress, she designed and sewed lovely wedding and bridesmaid dresses, as well as numerous Halloween costumes. Wendy loved Christmas. She left her tree up year-round, with beautiful hand-blown ornaments, and would go shopping at Kristmas Kringle in Fond du Lac, WI to admire all of their holiday decorations.
Wendy truly loved her faith, family, and friends. Nothing made her happier than becoming a grandmother; she would do anything for her children and grandchildren. Not a visit went by when Wendy wasn’t telling memorable stories about her family. She was first and foremost a loving mother and homemaker. Her sons made her so proud!
Wendy was the type of person who put so much thought and planning into things. No matter how old someone was turning, she made sure everyone felt special on their birthday with a big, personalized cake. She was the glue that held her family together and touched the lives of so many.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Stanley Mermall of Oshkosh, WI. She is also survived by her two sons and grandsons: Evan (Briana) Mermall and grandson Leonardo “Leo” of Menasha, WI, and Ryan (Sylvia) Mermall and grandson Jonathan of McHenry, IL.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Craig Miller and Scott Miller), aunts (Marjorie Bradley, Joyce Westpfahl, and Barb Westpfahl), and her two precious cats, Raleigh and Beamer.
Cremation has taken place with a graveside memorial service to be held at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the wonderful and compassionate staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, DaVita Dialysis, and the Aurora ICU doctors and nurses. They would also like to extend a sincere thank you to her current caregiver, Nancy Chahbouni, and all previous caregivers over the years. Also, thank you to neighbor, Judy Nelson, for always lending a helping hand. Additional thanks to Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home in Oshkosh for their assistance with serving the family.
She will be truly missed.
