Wesley Robert Abraham, age 73, lost his one-year battle with cancer on July 22, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family. Wes was born to Robert B. and Esther E. (Hintz) Abraham on August 13, 1937 in Oshkosh, where he resided his entire life. His educational years were spent at Washington Elementary, Merrill Jr. High, and Oshkosh High School, graduating in 1955. Wes was a life-long member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, where he was confirmed and where he married his high school sweetheart, Marion Buch, on Oct. 25, 1958. They were blessed with 52 plus years of marriage. Wes served with the Wisconsin National Guard 127th Infantry Division and was called to active duty in 1961, serving in Ft. Lewis, Washington during the Berlin Crisis. Wes retired from Oshkosh Corp. in 1999 after 36 years of dedicated service in many capacities, retiring from their Chassis Division. One of the positions he held was of Filed Service Rep. This allowed him to travel the world and from these travels he brought home many cultured gifts for his family and many more very interesting stories to share with family and friends. Wes was a man of great integrity earning respect and admiration from many people throughout his life. His compassion for others included helping anyone he was able to, including complete strangers. His hobbies included woodworking, having built several items for his church and furniture for his family and friends. His biggest achievement in life was the building of his cottage in Gresham, WI, where his family enjoyed many happy times. Wes is survived by his loving wife, Marion of Oshkosh; daughter Lori of Oshkosh; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jean Abraham of Oshkosh; grandson, Andrew Abraham of Williamsville, NY; granddaughter, Jenna Abraham of Oshkosh; sister, Belvia Dinger of Sun Prairie, WI; sister-in-law Jeanette Kuble of Berlin, WI; brother and sister-in-law, David and Nina Leib Buch of Oshkosh; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers-in-law, Bill Dinger and John Kuble; and a sister-in-law Yvonne Buch. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr.). A Celebration of Wes life will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at St. Pauls United Church of Christ (1250 Leonard Point Rd.) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in private at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to St. Pauls United Church of Christ. Special thank-yous from the family go to Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology Center of Neenah- Dr. Phillips and his wonderful staff. Also to the Michael D. Wachtel Center of Oshkosh-Dr. Kohl, Pat Jones, and the entire staff. Heartfelt thank-yous go to Affinity Hospice including Breanne, Tina, Phil, Tammy, Lorie, Barb, Kristine, Susan, and Pastor Dan. Your care, kindness, and concern for Wes and his family will always be remembered
