Wilbur A Butt

Wilbur A. Butt, age 87 of Oshkosh, passed away on January 20, 2019, at Bethel Home after several years battling Parkinson’s disease. He was born in the Village of Omro on June 28, 1931, the eldest child of the late Elsie (Brueske) Butt and Louis Butt. Wilbur married his high school sweetheart Vera Bradley on July 10, 1954.

He was a graduate of Omro High School Class of 1949. Wilbur served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a photographer. After leaving the service he was employed by SCM Corporation in the Marchant Calculator Division for 19 years and Valley Business Equipment as a Service Tech and Service Manager until he retired in 1993. Wilbur was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 50 years and served as an elder and usher for many of those years.

Wilbur enjoyed photography, gardening and travel. He and Vera traveled to Europe, Australia, the British Isles, Canada and all 50 US States.

Wilbur is survived by his wife of 64 years Vera; two daughters; Darlene (Peter) Bashaw of Cary, NC; Karen (David) Maccoux of Green Bay; four grandchildren he was very proud of; Justin (Lillette) Bashaw of Wilmington, NC; Cory (Heather) Bashaw of Raleigh, NC; Bradley Maccoux of Appleton; and Katie Maccoux of Green Bay; brother David Butt; sister-in-law Carol Butt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Marlene Tanner; brother, Kenneth Butt and nephew, Darin Butt.

Wilbur’s family would like to thank the staff at The Waterford, Bethel Home, and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care and Pastor Paul Lidtke for his daily visits.

Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home 100 Lake Point Drive, Oshkosh on Thursday, January 24th from 1:00 to 3:00, immediately followed by a memorial service. Interment will be at the Omro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
