Wilfred Edward Pasono

Wilfred Edward Pasono, 94, of Oshkosh, died on Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born on September 15, 1917 in Rochester, NY the son of Alfred and Mildred Kaufman Pasono. On April 25 of this year he celebrated 70 years of marriage to Doris Zentner. They were married in St. Johns Catholic Church parsonage in 1942. A hard worker throughout his life he spent more then 40 years in the composing room at the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern. On weekends for more then 50 years he could be found entertaining as a band leader at dances and weddings in the Oshkosh area, first with his band the Moonlight Seranaders and then the Will Pasono Orchestra.He was confirmed and spent his entire life as a member of First English Lutheran Church. Will was an avid golfer and bowler, secretary of the Lutheran Bowling League for many years. He built the home he and Doris lived in for 60 years. After retirement he began a second career building furniture for all of his children and grandchildren. For many years Will and Doris wintered in Florida and traveled throughout the United States.Will is survived by his wife, Doris of Oshkosh; daughters, Susan (Ed) Wohlmuth of Arlington Heights, IL, Janet (Gregg) Gottgetreu of Redmond, WA, and Karen (John) Stremikis of Belleville, WI; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren who enlivened his final years. He also leaves behind many family members including sisters, Eleanor Abel, Lois Faulhaber; brother, Earl (Darleen) Pasono; and sister-in-law, Ann Pasono.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ervin Pasono; and brothers-in-law, Frank Abel and Paul Faulhaber.A memorial service celebrating Wills life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers, donations to First English Lutheran Church or a favorite charity in his name are appreciated.
