William Arthur Boycks

February 5, 1947 — August 11, 2006

William A. Boycks, 59, was received into the hands of our Lord on Friday, August 11, 2006 after a courageous battle against heart and kidney failure. He was born February 5, 1947 the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Thurston Boycks of Oshkosh. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he fought in the Viet Nam War. He was an Air Policeman with the 35th SPS stationed in Phan Rang Viet Nam. After returning stateside he met his best friend and lifelong companion, Barbara Bostic, who he married on January 23, 1970. Bill was a member of Countryside Christian Church and Daughty-Hamilon American Legion Post # 234, Omro. He had many interests including woodworking, painting, hunting and fishing. Bill always had a hello and smile for you.He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughter, Melissa (Randy) Bunker; son, Chris (Katie) Boycks all of Oshkosh; five wonderful grandchildren who were the light of his life and his greatest joy, Jarred and Taylor Bunker, Zach, Allie and C. J. Boycks; two brothers Jim (Diane) Boycks of Oshkosh, Tom Boycks of Lake Mills; three sisters, Joan Conklin of Oshkosh, Carol (Jim) Konrad of Ashwaubenon, Gloria (Phil) Panoch of Oshkosh; one special best friend of 55 years, Bob (Cindy) Wipf; and good friend Barry Luce. He was also Uncle Billy to many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dick Boycks; sister, Jeanette Bunker; brothers-in-law, Wilber Conklin and Lloyd Bunker.Bills family would like to thank the staff at the Fresenius Dialysis Center and Dr. Ringwala for the exemplary care he received and Pastor Greg Decker and the Countryside Christian Church Family for the support and prayers. The funeral will be on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with Rev. Greg Decker officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
