William Eugene Crane

William E. Crane, 89, of Oshkosh died on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Oshkosh. He was born on October 20, 1924 in Chippewa Falls the son of Eugene and Stella Johnson Crane. He married Jeanne Vincent on May 26, 1946 in California. He was a graduate of Chippewa Falls High School and Carleton College He practiced law in the Oshkosh area with Keefe, Petri, Stillman, Nolan, Crane and Engler and then became a Winnebago County Circuit Court Judge. William served his country as a WWII Navel Aviator and was on the Military Honor Flight in 2012. He was a member of the American Legion Post 70, and Romeo's Club. He was a Rotarian and Free Mason and volunteered at the EAA Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; sons, Steven, Larry (Kyoko) and Brian Crane; daughter, Christine Crane; granddaughters, Jennifer (William) Baier and Ashley (Kurt) Klaske; great grandson, Nick. Also surviving are a brother, Robert (Verene) Crane and a sister, Julie Stafford. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in law, Richard Stafford.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Eastside) with Military Honors to follow. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.Memorials to the EAA or the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation would be appreciated.
