William Harvey Konrad

William H. Konrad, 87, of Oshkosh died on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Aurora Medical Center with his family at his side. Bill was born on February 26, 1921 in Oshkosh the son of George and Lillian Japp Konrad. He married Mildred Thompson on March 15, 1947 in Winchester.Bill was a long-time funeral director in Oshkosh, where he owned and operated Konrad Funeral Home in partnership with family members. After retirement he and Millie wintered in Florida for many years. He was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, World War II Army Veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge # 27, and enjoyed boating, golfing and camping. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; son, Paul (Betty) Konrad; daughter, Debra Oestreich; brother, Fredrick (Mary Jane) Konrad; and sister, Laura Bartelt. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Grace (Brad) Kuehl, Greg (fiance, Kristin) Hubertus, Ashley (Nick) Dowling, Kimberly Tomkinson; two step granddaughters, Jennifer (Joe) Brown, Lisa (Ben) Johnson; three great grand children and six step great grandchildren. His parents; son-in-law, Ken Oestreich; and his brother-in-law, Gary Bartelt preceded Bill in death. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 7:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with the Rev. Brian Tokoph officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Aurora ICU staff, especially Audrey and Dr. Asma Sabih and Dr. Stephen Wilson. Memorials in Bills name to the Bethel Foundation of Oshkosh (225 N Eagle Street Oshkosh WI 54902) or St. Pauls United Church of Christ (1250 Leonard Point Road, Oshkosh WI 54904) would be appreciated.
