William "Bill" Charles Hesser, age 85, of Oshkosh WI, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center.
Bill was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 12, 1939, son of John and Marcella (Delaney) Hesser. He graduated from West Division High School in Milwaukee in 1957. In 1960 Bill married the love of his life Judy (Ohlrich).
Bill was a Certified Executive Chef and managed the family business, Hesser's Supper Club, in Oshkosh until its sale in 1979. After that, he remained working in the food service and restaurant industry until his retirement.
Bill belonged to several organizations including the Masonic Temple Oshkosh Lodge 27, the Shriners Beja Temple in Green Bay and the Shriners Tripoli Temple in Milwaukee. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge, and was also President of the Winnebagoland Shrine Club for many years. Bill enjoyed being a Mason and a Shriner and was proud to be a member of each for more the 50 years.
Bill and Judy had a large group of wonderful friends that they were always doing something with. Whether it was golfing or traveling on many fantastic vacations around the world, they enjoyed being with and having fun with their friends.
A chance meeting with one man from the Los Angeles area who didn't have a place to stay during the EAA convention led to another group of great friends. The group of EAA friends from all over the country grew year after year. One year Bill and Judy decided to host a picnic for these friends. It became known as the EAA Party. They went on to host this party for over forty years, and they developed many lasting friendships.
Bill is survived by his wife, Judy Hesser; son, Doug (Gail); daughter, Vicki; two grandchildren, Sarah and Amanda, and three nieces, Debbie Strick (Mike), Robin Temmer (Brad) and Suzie Brandl (Scott).
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Hesser.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr, Oshkosh, WI. A visitation will begin at 9:00am till the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established where all financial gifts will be donated to the Beja Shrine Transportation Fund or the Masonic Temple Lodge 27.
