William J. Boushele

William J. Boushele, age 94, passed away on February 12, 2022, in Oshkosh, WI at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on October 25, 1927, in Oshkosh, WI, to the late Claude and Mary (Jungwirth) Boushele.Bill graduated from Oshkosh High School and went on to join the United States Navy. He served during the American Campaign during World War II.
After being honorably discharged for his service in 1948; Bill married Hilda Madaus on July 2, 1949, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Nekimi. The couple had 3 children, Jan, Kathleen, Keith Boushele.Bill spent his career as a firefight for the Oshkosh Fire Department for many years and was able to obtain the rank of captain. After his retirement, Bill and Hilda enjoyed traveling to many places throughout the world. He also enjoyed golfing as well as playing cards every Sunday. Bill and Hilda were both members at First English Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his children, Kathleen Pohlman, Jan (David) Hanke, and Keith Boushele; grandchildren, Ryan, and Reid (Elisa) Pohlman, Tammy Boushele, Douglas (Elizabeth) Bladorn, and Danielle (Nicholas) Barger; great-grandchildren, Kyra, Makenzie, Henrik, Oliver, Nora, Aubrielle as well as one great-grandchild on the way and one great-great-grandchild on the way. Bill is further survived by his sister, Rita Eckstein.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Hilda; siblings, Bernice (Corwin) Holmquist, Betty (Spin) Miller, Jean Veith, Margaret, and Sylvester Boushele; and brother-in-law, Robert Eckstein.
The service for Bill will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Thursday, at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
