William John Suenkel

William J. Suenkel, 87, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday September 29, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born August 10, 1922 in Oshkosh a son of Joseph and Nonie McCarthy Suenkel. On July 23, 1943 he married Jessie Morgan in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2007.William was a veteran of the United States Army retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, and the Oshkosh Kennel Club. He enjoyed carving decoys and doing woodworking. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.He is survived by one daughter Sharon(Joseph) Mann, four grandchildren Kris(Mandy) Mann, Mark(Angie) Mann, Scott( Connie) Mann, Danny Mann, six great-grandchildren Justice, Dakota, Marissa, Marquis, Kathryn, Kayden all of North Carolina, two sisters Marge Suenkel and Joanie Mueller both of Oshkosh, He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers Thomas and Jack.The funeral service for William will be held on Friday October 2, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Fr. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.A memorial has been established to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
