William J. Fritz, age 80, of Oshkosh, died July 2, 2012 at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay. He was born September 18, 1931. He graduated from St. Marys Grade School in 1946 and St. Marys Springs Academy High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and was a lifetime member of Fond du Lac Marine Corps League Detachment #552, Fond du Lac VFW Post # 1904, Fond du Lac Legion Post # 75, where he was a past commander. He was a state of Wisconsin Marine Corps liaison at King Veterans Home since January 14, 2005. He worked for International Paper for 30 years and volunteered for Gratitude Club, Kornerstone Club where he was past president from 2006-2007, Solutions Recovery Club where he was on the Board of Directors from 2007 until 2012, King Veterans Home, and Blue Line Hockey Club. He is survived by his biological siblings, Ben Thielitz of Fond du Lac, Marie Coley of Antigo, Agnes Tischer of Fond du Lac, Rose Kieper of Fond du Lac, and Clifford Thielitz of Illinois; many nieces and nephews, both on the biological and adoptive side of the family, especially a nephew, Patrick Dempsey; and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by a biological brother Elmer Thielitz, three adoptive brothers Carroll Fritz, Henry Fritz, and Jerome Fritz, and a close friend Bob Holterman. A memorial service for William will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Eastside with a friend of Bills, Rev. Chuck Thompson, officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services with military rites will be held Thursday July 19, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Cemetery, Taycheedah, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials are being established to Solutions Recovery Club, King Recreation Fund, and Blue Line Hockey Club in Fond du Lac. Bill will be dearly missed by the many good friends he made over the years.God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference.
