William M. Macdonald

William M. MacDonald, 62 of Omro, died unexpectedly Sunday as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 21. He was born in Oshkosh on October 7, 1945 a son of William and Josephine Kujawa MacDonald. He married Beverly J. Klemmer on July 19, 1969. They later divorced.Bill was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Parkview Medical Center and also cut hair there and at Omro Care Center; he was a proud graduate of cosmetology school. He had been an EMT for the Oshkosh Ambulance Service; being one of the first EMTs in Winnebago County. He also served proudly as a Lieutenant with the Oshkosh Auxiliary Police for over thirty years. He was a volunteer with the Winnebagoland Chapter of the American Red Cross serving at the First Aid and CPR classes and in Disaster Services acting as care provider to area firefighters. He received the highest volunteer honor that the Red Cross bestows, the Clara Barton Award. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. Bill was a member of the Community Church in Oshkosh.Bill is survived by his grandchildren, Adam, Andy, Joseph, and Kevin Lang, and Jacob and Jenna MacDonald, his son Jeff (Jennifer) MacDonald of Omro, daughter, Christie (Tom) Lang of Peshtigo, WI, sisters, Jeannie (Bob) Langlitz of Oshkosh, Terri (Gene) Walton of Oshkosh, and Debra (Roger) Potschaider of Tigerton, WI, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and by a good companion, Sandy Forseth, and good friends, Dale and Cindy Johnson as well as many others. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Dennis.Funeral services for Bill will be on Thursday January 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with the Rev. Wyatt Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-6 PM and from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM on Wednesday. A memorial for his grandchildren has been established in Bills honor.
