William P. Blackwell

William Paul Blackwell, age 77, died April 8, 2015 in Oshkosh, WI after battling lung cancer. Bill was born in Oshkosh on July 21, 1937 to Ruth and William Blackwell. He was married to Phyllis C. Passehl July 13, 1957 in Clintonville, WI.Bill worked for 7up, Baker Paper and Rockwell International. He was known as an avid walker and golfer. He enjoyed his time in Daytona Beach walking the beach and playing golf as well as playing golf in Oshkosh. He was most thankful for the unwavering love of his wife throughout his life.Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis of 58 years; his four children: Linda (William) Tedlie, Shelley (Joel) Rasmussen, Kim Blackwell, and Wendy (Jeff) Lueck; six grandchildren: William (Dana) Tedlie Jr., Jack (Kara) Rasmussen, Jody (Seth) Hahnke, Lindsay (Gary) Lee, Chad (Libby) Lueck, and Amanda Lueck (Fianc Luke Janssen). He was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include two step sisters: Lori and Sharon Blackwell; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sheila) Passehl; along with many loving nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Nelson, father, William Blackwell; sister, Dorothy (Blackwell) Curran; brothers: Donald Blackwell and Kenneth Nelson; parents-in-law, Clarence and Arvila Passehl; and his sister-in-law, Donna (Passehl) Schroeder.Friends are invited to gather on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin Street, Oshkosh, to embrace the family beginning at 9:30 am with service starting at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.The family extends sincere thanks to the Aurora at Home Hospice team that helped them through this challenging transition.
