William Thomas Norton

William T. Shiny Norton Jr, 76 of Martinez, GA, formerly of Oshkosh, WI died at University Hospital in Augusta, GA on May 19, 2009. Bill was born in Oshkosh on April 30, 1933, a son of William and Dorothy Weymouth Norton Sr. He married Judith McRae on June 21, 1958.William served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and had been employed with Rockwell International until his retirement. After retiring, Bill kept busy working part time at Enterprise Car Rental Agency in Oshkosh. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Bill and Judith moved to Georgia eight years ago and while in Oshkosh, was a member of First English Lutheran Church.Survivors include his wife Judith Norton, Martinez, GA; three children, Nancy (Gregory) Schaefer; William (Tammy) Norton III; Douglas (Anne) Norton; six grandchildren, Heather Schaefer, Tashia, Kristi, William IV, Lindsey and Nicholas Norton; two great- grandchildren, Lillian and Aviana; fourteen brothers and sisters, Barbara (James) Christian, Jane Riley, James (Bernice) Norton, Margaret Norton, Charlotte (James) Pettit, Susan Mueller, Peggy Boyce, Marianne Phillips, Ruth (Joel) Nelson, Linda Conley, Donald (Connie) Norton, Phyllis (Steve) Horton, Charles (Tammy) Norton and Ronald Norton. Bill is further survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kimberly Sue and two brothers, David and Gerald.Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd.) on Saturday May 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Family and friends may call at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Friday, May 22, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment with military honors will follow the service. A memorial service will be held at the Wymberley Club House in Martinez, GA on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 1:00 PM.
